As thousands of students across the state anxiously await their HSC results, a group of Myall Coast teens have already secured their futures after receiving early University offers last week.
Emily Kirkpatrick from Tea Gardens said she was very excited to have received offers from two Universities.
“I got early entry into Southern Cross and the University of New England to do a Bachelor of Nursing,” she said.
“Having a guaranteed place means that a lot of the pressure has been taken off, I don’t have to stress waiting for Uni offers to come out.”
Emily said she will decide where to study after the main round of offers are made early next year as she is also hoping to secure a place at the University of Newcastle.
Jordan Schmidt from Pindimar told News Of The Area being offered the chance to study Social Work at the University of New England was a weight off her shoulders.
“I’m so excited to get early entry and I’m really looking forward to studying the course,” she said.
“I like the idea of helping people and would particularly like to be able to assist youth.”
Jordan said she will be spending the next few months working in Tea Gardens to build up her savings.
“I’m applying for scholarships and saving as much as I can to help with rent and living expenses once I move to Armidale,” she said.
Several of Emily and Jordan’s classmates from Bulahdelah Central School also received early entry offers last week.
The main round of University offers will be made on 18 January, 2017.
