LEMON Tree Passage Bowling Club (now renamed Club Lemon Tree) has benefited to the tune of some $207,000 thanks to the generosity of the late Roy Lacey.

Roy left this bequest for the improvement of his beloved club and already around $140,000 has been earmarked for the resurfacing of the synthetic green.
Club president Kevin Colman said, “Roy was a long time bowler and resident of Lemon tree Passage.”
“We were in no way expecting anything at all and were surprised at the size of the gift,” he said.
“Our synthetic green is close to its use-by date so we decided to use the bulk of the money to resurface it. Most synthetic greens last about 10 to 15 years and ours was put down about 11 years old,” Mr Colman said.
“The green will be named in Roy’s memory and work will start on the job sometime later this year.”
As for the residue of the money, the club will use the bulk of it to upgrade the community service bus.
“We are still undecided as to what to do with what’s left over,” he added.
