Ability Options grows its disability services by buying Privada Farm

PRIVADA Farm, a 20-acre property in South Boambee Valley offering disability support services, has been purchased by Ability Options, a leading disability and employment provider in NSW, to build upon their good works in the region.

The purchase of Privada Farm is the latest investment by Ability Options on the Coffs Coast, which recently added to its other services – residential and short-term accommodation – with the acquisition of R&R Care and CHESS in Coffs Harbour over the past twelve months.

A Community Tea party was held in order to mark the occasion with visiting Ability Options CEO Julia Squire and City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Paul Amos in attendance.

The celebratory speeches spoke of the smooth transition of staff and participants into Ability Options from R&R Care and that the work to integrate CHESS Connect participants and colleagues is also well underway.

“We feel very welcomed by our new colleagues and connections here on the Mid-North Coast and look forward to investing in opportunities to support people living with disability across the region,” Julia said.

Its purchase of Privada Farm expands Ability Options’ range of services for local NDIS participants by enabling the delivery of therapy and skill building services.

According to Julia the purchase of Privada Farm presents an excellent opportunity to continue the organisation’s mission of supporting people who need assistance to achieve their aspirations and inclusion in the community.

“Privada Farm has supported people with a disability to build their skills and achieve outcomes for some time,” she said.

“Our range of services is now really broad, from direct supports, therapy and group activities to accommodation and short-term accommodation as well as employment.

“With the purchase of Privada Farm, Ability Options will continue to support its participants to develop their skills, including those that focus on farming, gardening, taking care of animals, and teamwork.”

Additionally, the expansion of Ability Options’ services in the region provides more jobs to locals wanting to support people in their communities or with an interest in working on the farm.
