One filled with vibrancy, and colour inspired by our local fauna and flora.
Artists Rhys Fabris and Nick Stuart are taking blank walls and turning them into stunning graffiti art murals which enhance the built environment.
The latest addition by Rhys Fabris, to what is fast becoming an art trail is a wall behind Cellarbrations at Anna Bay.
The artwork features a blue headed honeyeater and grevilleas.
Most of the artworks also include an inspirational message such as the new wall’s message to “Believe in Yourself.”
Rhys Fabris told News Of The Area, “This artwork took me two days to complete and I have heard some very positive reactions to the walls transformation.”
He has secured permission to paint the blank wall between the Anna Bay Service Station and Port Stephens Real Estate as well as the blue Vinne’s wall on the side street at Anna Bay.
Rhys’s works in the Bay currently feature galahs, kookaburras, rosellas and he plans to capitalise on the local birdlife for future works.
The theme of growing in harmony is something which Rhys would like to see.
He and Nick Stuart are seeking support and sponsorship to continue the transformation of the many blank canvases in and around the Bay.
The “watch this space” on the mural in Nelson Bay is waiting for funding to see the rest of the wall completed.
“It’s interesting but none of the work we have done has been tagged, we haven’t experienced any graffiti on any of the murals,” he said.
Rhys is also working with the Lions Club of Soldiers Point to paint the bus shelters which they manage around the bay.
