Beyond Blue Trivia at Hawks Nest Surf Club raises over Ten Thousand dollars

Flash Gordon’s Trivia Night at Hawks Nest, which was held on Wednesday 21 January, raised a staggering $10,266.80.

All funds are to be donated to the Beyond Blue Foundation who work tirelessly in their efforts to make their Foundation accessible to as many people as possible.

One hundred and fifty people attended the Trivia Night, held at the Hawks Nest Surf Club, and participated in trivia, options games, raffles and an auction with some bidders from afar offering their bid via a friend in the audience, using a mobile phone.

The Surf Club was aptly decorated with everything “blue” and every guest was able to take home a Beyond Blue Goodies Bag that contained flyers and information about the Foundation.

Guests wore blue as a mark of respect for the Foundation and as you can see from the photos, some even had blue hair.

Refreshments flowed and pizzas were provided by Benchmark on Booner.

When Myall Coast News asked Hugh (Flash) Gordon how he felt about the success of the evening, he said, “I am absolutely over the moon and cannot get over the generosity of people in this community who were keen to donate prizes for raffles and also organize their table of family and friends to participate on the night.”

Myall Coast News wishes to publicly thank Flash for a top effort in his support of the Beyond Blue Foundation.
