The shave helps provide vital research into lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma, with blood cancer being the third most common type of cancer-related death in Australia. It has claimed more lives than breast cancer or melanoma. Brooke told News Of The Area, “I decided to shave my head because we had a family member who had blood cancer.” “I’m excited now to do it but I think I’ll get very nervous when the time comes to shave my hair,” she said. Brooke also wants to donate her hair to be turned into a wig for cancer survivors who have lost theirs during their treatment process. The shave will take place at Marketplace Raymond Terrace on 16 March at 12.30pm.
