Honoured in the Local Chamber category, Bulahdelah has been recognised for their proactive work in the local business community.

President, John Sahyoun, attributes the nomination to the Chamber’s hard work and passion for the area.

“Our members have worked on many initiatives over the past year to make sure the chamber continues to grow and support local businesses,” he said.

“Being named as a finalist for three years running is a true testament to the commitment of our members in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our community.”

Significant achievements of the chamber over the past 12 months include retention of the library service and securing grant funding for improvements to community and tourist facilities.

The Bulahdelah Chamber also manages the Visitor Information and Rural Transaction Centres.

“We are also working with MidCoast Council to ensure our area has a voice, and we are a foundation partner of the MidCoast Business Chamber which gives us a voice in wider regional initiatives,” Mr Sahyoun said.

Hamilton, Scone, Throsby Basin and Branxton Chambers have also been named as finalists in the Local Chamber category.

Hunter Business Chamber CEO Bob Hawes said the awards acknowledge the region’s most successful organisations and businesses.

The winners across 10 categories will be announced at a gala evening in Newcastle on 31 August.
