Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce and Tourism named finalist

BULAHDELAH Chamber of Commerce and Tourism have been announced as finalists in the Hunter Business Awards for the second consecutive year.

The awards are recognised as Australia’s most prestigious Regional Business Awards and honour individuals and businesses in 10 different categories.
The Bulahdelah Chamber have been shortlisted in the Local Chamber Excellence category which acknowledgesthe contribution organisations make to businesses and their communities.

Bulahdelah Chamber President John Sahyoun said being named as a finalist recognises the efforts of all Chamber members over many years.

“We have worked hard at improving opportunities for both businesses and community members in our local area as well as developing strong links within our Region and throughoutthe State,” Mr Sahyoun said.

“We have been focussing on promoting tourism in the area and our members have implemented various strategies to attract visitors to our town to enjoy the many unique features the area offers.”

Mr Sahyoun said Chamber members are continually working towards the general growth of services available in the community and were looking forward to a successful future for businesses.

The Bulahdelah Chamber is a self-funded organisation with over 40 active members and incorporates the management of the Rural Transaction Centre and Visitor Information Centre.

Dungog District Chamber of Commerce, Scone Chamber of Commerce and Singleton Business Chamber have also been named as finalists.

The organisations will be judged on their engagement with their local business community, initiatives undertaken during the past 12 months and also their association with the Hunter and NSW Business Chambers.

The winners of the Hunter Business Awards will be announced at a function in Newcastle on 5 August.
