THE Tomaree Business Chamber enjoyed a great turnout from the business community at a recent networking event which was held on Moonshadow TQC.

Over 85 local business people gathered and enjoyed a cruise down the bay while networking and learning a little more about each other.

Chamber President Leah Anderson advised members how the Chamber was proposing to respond to Council in relation to the draft Nelson Bay Strategy.

The Chamber executive held a special meeting giving up their Saturday to formulate a response to the issue which will impact member businesses and individuals.

Leah was also congratulated by the membership for being awarded Port Stephens Business Woman of the Year.

Leah Anderson told News Of The Area, “This networking event will be a hard act to follow, but it is great for us all to experience the bay and the different business offerings that are here.”

Chamber Board Member Mel Turner of Moonshadow TQC conducted a fun speed networking activity which saw businesses connecting on a different level.

The Chamber holds regular Bay Business Breakfasts and Evening networking events for members and is currently working on a Civic Pride program to enhance the look and feel of the Nelson Bay CBD.
