The Nelson Bay Netball Association began in 1982 with the Nelson Bay Sportsground Committee seeking permission for grounds to start a netball competition.

Four grass courts were promised, and in 1983 the Nelson Bay Netball Club was formed with the competition comprising 12 senior teams, involving the registration of approximately 100 players.

The club is growing at a fast rate and this year the club is calling for new and existing players looking at registering for the 2017 winter competition.

“The best thing we have done is to reduce the fees dramatically this year in comparison to other years,” Nadina Potter, Secretary of the Nelson Bay Netball Association, told Bay News of the Area.

“While fees and prices are increasing in every sphere, we are proud to have been able to reduce our fees to make it more affordable for all of our players this year,” Ms Potter said.

Teams include a female mixed team aged from 7- 16 years and all female teams aged 17 years and over with a minimum of five players details. Payments must accompany the registration form.

If you don’t have a team, the association will help you find a team.

Just email the association for more information.

Registration Days are from 9am – 12 pm Saturday, 11 February and 25 February at the Nelson Bay Netball Courts Clubhouse Aquatic Close, Salamander Bay or download the online form from January 30 via www.nelsonbayna.nsw.netball.com.au.
