Child dies after being hit by car at Wamberal

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after a child died in hospital, following a crash in Wamberal earlier this week.

The ten-year-old was playing with friends on Prince Street about 4.45pm today (Monday 3 August 2015), when he was struck by a white Subaru wagon.

He was airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick in a critical condition, and passed away yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 5 August 2015).

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

The driver of the Subaru, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Gosford Hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigations into the crash are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
