Tea Gardens Mother of two Jodie Genner has described her latest charitable venture as, “I just saw it online and I thought, I can do that.

What she saw is the “It’s In The Bag” website, a not-for-profit initiative aimed at providing a little gift of luxury to women experiencing hardship this Christmas.

From now until Thursday 1 December, Jodie is calling on generous-minded people to donate a handbag filled with essentials or a little bit of luxury that will make a woman feel loved.

“A lady on Facebook was selling all of these handbags and I said I’d buy them and instead she just came in and donated the lot,” Jodie told News Of The Area.

The bags don’t have to be new, but they do need to be in good condition and they can be filled with items such as the necessities, like deodorant, shampoo and conditioner.

Or they can be a little bit more extravagant, containing a movie or food voucher, a scarf or a piece of jewellery.
“I’ve had messages on the Tea Gardens Community Facebook site, saying how can we help, what can we do?” Jodie said.

Back in August, Jodie ran in her first City2Surf in Sydney to raise funds for charity.

If you’d like to make someone’s Christmas a little special then drop off your handbag filled with goodies to Jodie at Century 21 Real Estate on Marine Drive at Tea Gardens.
