ON Tuesday March 23, Coffs Harbour Airport welcomed Rex to the region, as they completed a ‘proving flight’ in advance of its Sydney service commencing on 28 March.

The Sydney service will operate up to 3 times a day and add 18 services a week to the popular Sydney-Coffs Harbour route.

Coffs Harbour Mayor Councillor Denise Knight said the new services provided enormous economic possibilities for the region.

“Rex’s new services are a ringing endorsement of our community and Palisade – the new operators of the airport.

“We’re going to be seeing potentially another 60,000 passengers a year coming to the region, which is great for the local tourism industry and a fantastic, post-pandemic boost for the whole Coffs Coast region.”

Frank Mondello, incoming General Manager for Coffs Harbour Airport, welcomed the new services.

“We’re delighted to welcome Rex to Coffs Harbour Airport, which will offer passengers more choice on the region’s busiest air route.

“The Rex service will provide more frequency for passengers travelling between Sydney and Coffs, and will provide a boost to the growing business travel market and for those keen to connect with family and friends.”

Rex’s Sydney service will operate up to 3 times a day and add 18 Coffs-Sydney services a week.
