THE Coffs Harbour Showgirl Competition is on again in 2021.

The competition is not a beauty contest, as some would assume, but rather is aimed at women who are wholesome, well-rounded, community-minded.

Entry is free, and participants gain personal and professional development through an information session which is held on Saturday 24 April.

This session includes speakers, talking on topics such as public speaking, etiquette, giving girls a voice, skincare, community involvement, young entrepreneur support and more.

The aim of the Showgirl competition is to educate entrants, aged between 12 and 24 years on these topics as well as information about Coffs Harbour, its history, politics and agriculture.

Girls then participate in a light hearted interview to practice their interview skills and then practice their networking skills at the official reception.

The winner is then announced at the Coffs Harbour Show on Saturday 1 May.

Garry Innes from Good Price Pharmacy Warehouse has been the sponsor for many years.

Mr Innes said, “It’s so exciting to see these young women keen to become involved in the Show, and to become ambassadors for the Coffs Coast.”

Entries are open now to women between the ages of 12 and 24 and close on the 16 April.
