A capacity audience of more than 400 people filled the Tea Gardens Primary School for the Myall Coast Community Carols.

With a variety of Christmas Carols, music and song, there was something for everyone, the performances led by hosts Donna Howarth and Neil Kibble.

Ray Hosking told News Of The Area, “Musically, the show included an outstanding rendition of Hallelujah by Jomeca, with Tanya Keys enthusiastically ” Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Jill Harvey, Leon Bobako and Ronelle McKay’s popular version of the beautiful John Lennon classic ‘So This Is Christmas.”

“There was an inspirational presentation by Jeff Morris of The Holy City and the 40-voice Myall Coast Massed Choir gave an outstanding performance throughout the night, and all the artists were enhanced by the magnificent sound and light provided by sponsor Uwe Seil.

Children from Tea Gardens Public School, St Joseph’s Bulahdelah and Medowie Christian School provided colourful tableaus for the Three Wise Men, Angels and Shepherds, Snowmen, Skaters, Fairies, Elves and Christmas Trees around a Nativity Scene, together with Harlequin Gymnasts and Sailors all in costume and let’s not forget the bubbly Rudolph, jovial old Santa and an effervescent Mini-Me Santa.

With 12 years as Musical Director of “Carols in The Domain”, an International Telecast on the Seven Network, it was Michael Harvey’s vision, to bring this concept to Tea Gardens with the help of his Committee, Creative Team & Crew.

“For some years I have believed we needed to bring ‘ The Magic of Christmas ‘ to our Community for children and families to come together and enjoy the real meaning of Christmas,” Michael Harvey said.

And the audience agreed, concert goers chorusing tributes, “A fabulous evening enjoyed by young and old, with joy, happiness and a few tears.”

All proceeds from the Myall Coast Community Carols are going to the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest Surf Lifesaving Club.
