Emergency Services respond to chainsaw accident

A FEMALE was taken to Manning Base Hospital with lacerations to her arm following an accident with a chainsaw.

The 69-year-old female had been assisting her partner cut wood at their property in Nerong at 3.15pm on 26 June.

Bulahdelah Police report the partner had been operating the chainsaw as the female reached over the top of saw to take hold of a piece timber.

Her lower right arm then came in contact with the running blade inflicting several lacerations to her arm.

The female immediately compressed the wounds with a towel.

Emergency services were called with Police, Ambulance and Westpac Rescue Helicopter responding.

The injury was assessed and treated at the scene before the female was taken to Manning Base Hospital by Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
