Extradition sought of woman over Murwillumbah murder

A woman is expected to be extradited from Queensland today charged in relation to the murder of a man on the Far North Coast last year.

Police allege Michael Martin, 46, was murdered at his business in Quarry Road, South Murwillumbah, on Friday 13 June 2014.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with his murder on Saturday 14 March 2015. He is currently remanded in custody.

Yesterday, investigators from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command were assisted by Queensland Police in interviewing a 25-year-old woman at Esk.

The woman was arrested on a NSW Police warrant for the offences of conspiracy to murder, and being an accessory before the fact of murder and being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Investigators from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command applied for and were granted the extradition of a 25-year-old woman when she appeared at a Brisbane Magistrates court earlier today (Friday 10 April 2014.

She has been taken to Byron Bay Police Station where she will be charged with conspiracy to murder, and being an accessory before the fact of murder and being an accessory after the fact to murder.
