As a young lad, Daniel Marquez helped out his grandfather, the late Luis Rodriguez, on the farm and had the opportunity to learn his farming skills from a very experienced tomato grower, amongst other things.

With the passing of his grandfather just over two years ago, Daniel took it upon himself to do something in his grandfather’s honour as a way of thanking him for teaching him the skills he now has as a farmer and continuing to farm with the passion his grandfather had for the land.

Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Tomatoes in Abundance in Abundance Road Medowie is back in operation with a new generation of farmers and techniques in the same street, just a different property.

Daniel told News Of The Area, “I wanted to do something special to honour a great man, and to also provide a quality service to the families of Medowie.”

Daniel is a trained chef and has a passion for cooking with fresh fruit and vegetables.

He is growing his produce following organic practices, and his produce is chemical free.

Tomatoes in Abundance has been closed since Christmas and will reopen on 12 January, 2017 with fresh produce consisting of his much-loved tomatoes, capsicums, Lebanese eggplant, zucchini, cucumbers, radish, cauliflower, broccoli, peaches, sweet potatoes, onions, potatoes and garlic, just to name a few.

He will also have figs, watermelon and plums in the coming weeks.

Daniel will this year be selling mixed fruit and veggie boxes for anyone interested in trying a collection of his produce.

You can phone him or message him your order and he will have it ready for you to collect at a time suitable to you.

From February, 2017 Tomatoes in Abundance will also have the pleasure in assisting you with your organic pantry items through the ‘Natural Food Collective’.

Fresh organic produce and organic pantry items all at one convenient location.
