MIDCOAST book lovers will be meeting online on Tuesday 30 November for the final 2021 ‘About a Book’ online chat with two local authors joining the event as special guests.

Co-hosted by local author Kaneana May and MidCoast Libraries Manager, Chris Jones, ‘About a Book’ is a monthly online event where book lovers can curl up on the couch with a cuppa and hear directly from their favourite local authors about the books they love.

In this month’s session, join experienced Mid North Coast authors, Karly Lane and Annie Seaton.

Karly is the author of Something Like This, Fool Me Once, Take Me Home, Once Burnt, Twice Shy and many more.

Proud mum to four children and wife of one very patient mechanic, she is lucky enough to spend her day doing the two things she loves most – being a mum and writing stories set in beautiful rural Australia.

A certified small town girl, she is most happy in a little town where everyone knows who your grandparents were.

She writes women’s fiction – everything from romantic suspense to family sagas and life in rural Australia.

Karly Lane’s seventeenth novel, Take Me Home (May 2021), was inspired by her own recent journey through beautiful, mysterious Scotland.

Annie is the author of Osprey Reef, Undara, Whitsunday Dawn and many more.

Her career and studies have spanned the education sector for most of her working life, until she took early retirement and fulfilled a lifelong dream of a full-time writing career.

Annie’s books have won several awards, including Book of the Year and Ausrom Readers’ Choice Awards 2018 for Whitsunday Dawn, which was also a finalist for ARRA romantic suspense.

Each winter, Annie and her husband leave the beach to roam remote corners of Australia for story ideas and research.

For those readers who cannot experience this journey personally, Annie seeks to portray the natural beauty of the Australian environment – its spiritual locations, stunning landscapes and unique wildlife.

About a Book is a free event but bookings are essential.
