Forster Farmers Markets on Harmony Day

Great Lakes Council’s Forster Library Service will host a special opportunity for children at the Forster Farmers’ Markets on Saturday 21 March to celebrate Harmony Day.Forster Farmers Markets

Beautifully illustrated picture books from around the globe will be read by wonderful volunteers of our culturally diverse community. The stories come from Africa, Italy and China and are guaranteed to provide an experience to open the eyes and stimulate the curiosity of our children.

This is a great opportunity to introduce young children to multicultural Australia and help develop an appreciation of the diversity that enriches our society. To follow the stories a special treat that is typical of each culture will be offered to participants.

This is just one activity of many planned to celebrate Harmony Day and the picturesque scene on the Forster Community Gardens opposite Wallis Lake couldn’t be a better venue.

We hope to see you there. The markets and other activities will commence around 9am and the stories at 10:30am.
