Fundraising Day for Medowie Boy with nodular heterotopia at Nelson Bay Nelson Bay (Tomaree Peninsula areas) by News Of The Area - Modern Media - June 16, 2017June 16, 2017 The Sporting Hope Association’s Committee. DYLAN is twelve years old and lives in Medowie. His family also live in Anna Bay. Suffering from nodular heterotopia, a medical condition which leaves Dylan blind, he cannot walk, talk, sit, and also has no gait muscles. Dylan suffers multiple epileptic seizures daily. Dylan’s family desperately need a vehicle which they can use to transport Dylan and his wheelchair to get to school and medical appointments. The Sporting Hope Association is a group of local like-minded people seeking to make a difference for people living in the Port Stephens community like Dylan. They have organised a Day For Dylan on 23 July at Nelson Bay Bowling Club. The social bowling event is for two games of 12 ends followed by a roast lunch with the entry fee for each team of four $80. You can register a team of men, ladies or mixed fours to play in the Day For Dylan fundraiser at Nelson Bay Bowling Club. Football greats John Peard and Leo Toohey will be making an appearance on the day. The Sporting Hope Association is seeking donations for raffles and of course funds to assist in raising the $30,000 needed to buy a vehicle which will greatly enhance Dylan’s life. By Marian SAMPSON
