SOMETHING Fabulous! has happened for the entire membership of Galleries in the Gardens (GIG) art group – and for our community as well.

GIG has won a grant to conduct its innovative new Fabulous! program.

This culminates in a spectacular display in The Gallery, involving large scale floral-themed artworks as well as fresh flowers and foliage.

The Fabulous! exhibition will run up to and including Mothers’ Day, making it a very pretty and memorable place to visit with Mum.

Meantime, GIG artists are attending Fabulous! Artspeak gatherings, working in teams to produce the series of big, botanical-inspired paintings – all under COVID rules, of course.

Fabulous! was designed to help reverse some effects of COVID by getting GIG artists back into the swing of things both socially and artistically, and to excite the community to get out and about again.

GIG, a not-for-profit, volunteer-run group, is grateful for the support of this program by the Arts Mid North Coast SHINE promotion through the NSW Government’s Art Restart program.

The Fabulous! exhibition opens Wednesday 21 April and runs to Monday 9 May, 10am to 4pm daily (not including Tuesdays) at The Gallery, 81 Marine Drive Tea Gardens.

Its diagonally opposite the ferry wharf and on the waterside café strip.
