Players were keen to tee off and take their chance at winning one of the three major hole in one prizes, a Honda Jazz from Klosters, a Toyota Yaris from Port Stephens Toyota and a boat with all the running gear from Bay Boat Sales, unfortunately none of the hole in one prizes went off.
However in a surprise win 14 year old Xavier Smith took out the nearest the pin and the $500 Ingenia holiday supplied by Latitude One.
Players participated in a range of quirky activities during the four player Ambrose competition which was won by the Valley Homes team.
David Hurley who sits on the marketing committee of Real Futures Foundation, told News Of The Area, “The aim of the day was to engage with business and the community, have some fun, improve the profile of the foundation within the community and raise funds for our youth programs. In all those aspects it can be considered a clear success.”
He believes that it is important for business and community groups to assist youth to be inspired, motivated and to find their way into a career which suits their skill sets.
“It’s about students knowing that the community is behind them which can make a big difference to students in the long run,” he said.
The Real Futures Foundation supports students from all high schools in the Port Stephens Local Government Area.
