Hugo Elstermann launched the service last week, “After many weeks of financial contractual arrangements, we are now up and running delivering this service to the community which will cut those long drives to Medowie, not to mention the long queues waiting to use the machine.”

“Eligible drink containers must have the label attached and cans must not be crushed because the bar code has to be read,” Hugo said.

“Also check that the container has the 10 cent refund statement on the label.”

“They get cash in hand, but all the bottles need to be cleaned.”

“Anything that has a 10 cent refund label can be returned.”

There is a limit of 100 units per transaction, but nothing to stop someone from doing that several times a day.

“Our operating hours will be 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday,” Hugo said.

It’s worth noting too that Hawks Nest Takeaway is also a ‘return and earn’ provider.

It’s a win, win for locals and the environment.

Hugo added, “So start collecting, earn the cash and help clean up the environment on the Myall Coast,”

Both collection points are located on Tuloa Avenue, Hawks Nest.
