The event will commence at 9am with a shotgun start.

Organiser David Gilbert said he is looking forward to seeing a great turnout of players on the day.

“This is a ‘four person Ambrose’ event which again has been generously sponsored by Palm Lake Resort.

An exciting addition to this year’s event is the inclusion of a shield, titled “The Greys on the Green Shield”, to be contested between residents of Palm Lake Resort Tea Gardens and Palm Lake Resort Fern Bay.

Four teams of golfers from each Resort will do battle for this shield.

He said there will be a host of great prizes on offer on the day including a Perpetual Trophy and four replica trophies for the winning team plus prizes for the placegetters, nearest the pins and longest drive.

“We are hoping to attract players from many clubs all around the outlying areas for this year’s event.  But of course we will be building on making “The Grey Nomads’ Cup” a bigger and better event where hopefully we can attract players and travelling ‘nomads’ from all around New South Wales and even Victoria in future years.”

The cost of $40 per head includes green fees, a light meal and a drink voucher for each competitor.

Please note that all players must be over the age of 50 years.

For players with an Australian Golf Link number the maximum handicaps for calculating the team handicap will be 27 for men and 36 for women.

This year, golfers who don’t have an official golf handicap will be allocated a handicap on the day to enable them to play in the event.

To lodge your nomination for the event, please contact the Hawks Nest Golf Club Pro Shop on 4997 0740.
