And sometimes it’s ‘just what we do’ to support others within the community.
Yet another act of generosity in our towns sees one of the golfing clubs raise money for the local RFS.
Annette Benton President of the Hawks Nest Ladies Golf (HNLG) Club presented Sandy Snape of the Tea Gardens & Pindimar Rural Fire Service a cheque for $850.
The funds were raised at the ladies’ Christmas ‘break-up day raffle’.
Ms Snape told News Of The Area, “As a volunteer organisation we receive the basic equipment to perform our duties.”
“To receive this generous donation from the ladies will go towards upgrading some of our communication equipment that will further enhance the safety of our members on the fireground,” she said.
