Yet another successful workshop was held at the Myall Community Art and Craft Centre recently.

The Thursday Braided Rug Makers tried their hand at Hook Rug Making.

Under the guidance of Ruth Spence a fibre artist from Newcastle, members worked their hessian in a variety of fabrics and patterns.

It is a slow process and not easy to get the swing of it, but after a while everyone was delighted with what was appearing before them.

After lunch some of the participants learnt the art of basket weave broach making.

All enjoyed the day very much and loved expanding their fibre art repertoire.

If you visit the Myall Community Art and Craft Centre on January 9, 10 or 11 you may well see some of the results of the Hooked Rug Workshop and many others.

Paintings and photographs will fill one room while soft crafts, spinning and weaving, folk art and jewellery will fill another while a third room will be filled with Mosaics, Pottery and Woodwork.

All the creative groups at the Myall Art and Craft Centre will have work on show and for sale over this three day event.

Save the date and come along to see what should be a varied display of the creative talents in our area.
