Impromptu shrine set up to commemorate life of Corey

The close-knit community of Medowie was shocked this week at the devastating loss of popular young man, 17-year old Corey Pethebridge.

Mr Pethebridge was killed in a single vehicle accident while riding his motorbike on Wednesday, 26 October at approximately 10pm on Abundance Road, Medowie.

In a public show of grief, friends of the Irrawang High School students have established an impromptu shrine on the side of the road to commemorate the life of Corey.

Among the floral tributes and other objects of remembrance are footballs, a nod to the young man’s promising potential as a Rugby League player, having previously been named on the Sydney Rooster’s Junior’s trial list.
