As a new resident and boat owner in Tea Gardens, I would like to express my support for the suggestions put by Jeff Schionning in the recent letter to the editor (Jetty Time Limit: Opinion article – Jeff Schionning NOTA 23 Jan 2020 P.5).

Similar to vehicle parking bays, we all understand that boat access to the jetty moorings needs to be managed. The current time limits however appear overly proscriptive and lack flexibility for the different types of users and different times of day.
The jetty is a great community asset and its use should be encouraged in a fair and sensible way for all stakeholders including residents, visiting boats and traders in the area.
I do hope that the responsible body, Council or NSW Maritime, will review the current arrangement consistent with that proposed by Jeff Schionning.
