For performers like Dylan Hoskins, the carols signify more than just a holiday event.

“Performing here isn’t just about the holidays,” Dylan said.

“It’s a pledge to our community’s harmony – a shared melody of togetherness.

“Celebrating here fosters unity, strengthens bonds and creates enduring memories, enriching our local culture.”

The Macksville Christmas Carols by Candlelight isn’t merely a celebration; it’s a heartwarming tradition from the local Salvation Army, an expression of gratitude to the community for its unwavering support throughout the year.

The free-entry event, supported by Mitre 10, thrives on generosity, with donations directly aiding the Nambucca Valley through the Salvos’ welfare program.

It also serves as a poignant reminder of the essence of Christmas, fostering unity and spreading joy throughout the valley.

RJ Donovan’s delivery of a Welcome to Country set the stage for an evening filled with heartwarming performances.
Kempsey’s Northwest Freight Service’s stage stood as a testament to community collaboration, symbolising the collective effort behind this annual tradition.

Among the highlights for attendees were the Riverewe stable, where children delighted in petting sheep, the appearance of Santa Claus, and the breathtaking fireworks finale crafted by Chris and his team from Pearson Fireworks.

This year’s event witnessed an incredible lineup of performers, including The Valley Line Dancers, Bluebird Allstars, Salvo’s Country Band, and many more, all contributing their talent to the joyous occasion.
