Macksville Scotts Head contests first round of North Coast Surf Boat Series

Macksville Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club members competed in the first round of the North Coast Surf Boat Series.

ROUND one of the North Coast Surf Boat Series kicked off at Scotts Head on Saturday 21 October before Sunday’s events were cancelled due to unfavourable conditions.

“Saturday was a great first day of racing for the 2023/2024 season,” said Anna, Macksville Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club.

Macksville Scotts Head had two crews competing.

In the Reserve Men, ‘Sharp Tools’ had one win on the day and placed third on 41 points, just one point behind Woolgoolga in second place.

In the 200 Yrs Masters, ‘Rusty Tools’ also placed third for the day on 38 points.

“We’re always looking for new rowers and would love to get a Women’s crew together, an U23 Men and a 160s Men’s crew.

“Rowers need to hold a proficient Bronze Medallion award and be patrolling members.”

The next round of the North Coast Surf Boat Series is at South West Rocks on 4 and 5 November.
