As club representative, Dwayne Murphy explained to Medowie News Of The Area, “The club is taking the next step forward as the Senior team will be playing in the Premier competition for 2017.”

“This has been made possible by the support of local businesses and the signing of WALK Electrical as our Major sponsor for 2017 and we hope that the players and community support them in return.”

One major benefit of playing in the NHRU’s Premier competition is that each and every game is to be televised and replayed on BarTV Sports, a local YouTube channel.

However, the importance of community ties have not been lost on the Marauders despite their success.

“The rugby club knows the importance of keeping a close connection with the community and has ensured this is the main priority for the club to survive.” Mr Murphy told News Of The Area.

“To this end, all home games remain the same in regards to playing at Boyd Oval as normal and our players will continue to wear the Medowie jumper with pride.”

Despite the fact the 2017 draw is yet to be released, Medowie News Of The Area understands that two full rounds of Premier Rugby will be played at Boyd Oval during the season.

More details will be made available as they come to hand, but in the meantime, the club should be congratulated on their achievements thus far.

Bring on the 2017 season.
