As well as brightening the lives of people with disabilities, their efforts have also done wonders for our natural environment here in Corlette and elsewhere.

Thousands of native plants nurtured at Ngioka and planted by Landcare groups will, in the years to come, provide valuable habitat for birds and fauna.

Planting of endemic native species helps long term survival and this extreme summer has been a timely reminder of the importance of this.

When planning a visit to Ngioka to buy plants, a good tip would be to phone first (49843487) for the best time.
