Meals On Wheels in the Bulahdelah

In regards to Home Care Services which was reported in the 27 May edition of the Myall Coast News, the Co-ordinator of Meals On Wheels in the Bulahdelah area, Meredyth Rae, wanted to inform the seniors that if you already receive Meals on Wheels or if you want to there is a self-reference process for the next two weeks.

This means that if you require meals due to sickness or an inability to prepare your own food, up until 30 June you just need to notify Meredyth.

This process is in conjunction with the Australian government’s website myagedcare.gov.au where it was previously stated that all seniors need to register by 1 July 2015 to be able to access services like Meals on Wheels and Community Transport.

After Myall Coast News notified the myagedcare hotline, it has been explained that the website: myagedcare.gov.au gives all the information about the  Home Care Services that are available and what assessments need to be made but you need to call them on 1800 200 422 to register.

Once you have registered, an account will be opened and an assessor will visit the home and then the Home Care Services that the senior is needing will be organised.

If you are wanting to self-reference before the cut-off date for registration contact Meredyth Rae on 49974146.
