The main focus of the meeting was around timing of matches in 2017 .

The meeting was fruitful, with the NHRU open to Medowie’s concerns.

President of Medowie Rugby, Dwayne Murphy told News Of The Area, “There was some give and take during the meeting, but the end result was reached which suited both parties involved and has the support of NHRU in the venture.”

“The premier games held at Boyd oval in 2017 proved to be at great success on for the club on the day and the community of Medowie.”

From the outcome of one of the primers days the Club was approached by Port Stephens Toyota about supporting the Club and have since became the Clubs major sponsors in the 2018 season.

Dwayne said, “There was a lot of support from locals who came to watch the best rugby available in the Hunter, in their hometown.”

“With a lot of old heads venturing out for the day, it was good to see.”

Medowie will host two premier rounds again in the 2018 season, with a few added attractions this year to be announced as well.
