Medowie Markets began almost 15 years ago, and have been growing steadily with community support ever since.

The original Market convenors, Cliff & Nita Smith, were at the forefront of getting the community market idea off the ground along with much-loved local pastor, the late Wayne Mordue.

After 15 years of growth in our town, the Medowie Community Markets now boast up to 70 stallholders every month.

The 2016 Christmas market saw stall numbers swell to more than 80.

Stallholders sell a wonderful variety of both homemade and store produced products, selling jewellery, honey, jam, candles, plants and lots more.

Markets Co-ordinator David Deal told News Of The Area, “Overflow Church has been convenor of our markets for a long while now, and it’s a service we are so pleased to be able to provide for the people of Medowie.”

“We love seeing the community come out on market day, supporting businesses and stall holders, and just having a great day out with the family.”

“We look forward to another successful market calendar again this year,” he said.

The markets are on the second Saturday of the month outside the Bull and Bush hotel.

The first market for 2016 will be held Saturday 11 February starting at 8.00 am.

If you’ve always wanted to have your own stall, the time and price is right.

Stalls are among the cheapest around other markets of similar size, starting at $35 for a 4m x 4m site.

You can book a stall by contacting Overflow Church on 49829123.
