Medowie Schools participate in Education Week

EDUCATION week is a celebration of Public Education.

With a theme this year being ‘shared stories, better learning, stronger communities’, Medowie schools have showcased the fine education offered to young people and with great success.

Medowie Public School, Wirreanda Public School, Hunter River High School and Irrawang High School all participated in individual school performances and presentations in their respective schools.

The three schools also came together in a true showcase of ‘shared stories, better learning, stronger communities’ with performances at the Raymond Terrace MarketPlace shopping centre during the week and at two nights of the ‘Lakeside Showcase’ at Irrawang High.

Colleen Mulholland-Ruiz, Centre Manager/Marketing Manager of the Marketplace Raymond Terrace, told News Of The Area, “We are proud to be a part of bringing education from the classroom to the community.”

“The talent exhibited by the students is second to none,” she said.

“Not only were these children performing in the Centre Court at MarketPlace, they also performed to sellout audiences as part of Showcase 2016 at Irrawang High School,” said Ms Mulholland-Ruiz.

Education Week 2016 saw a range of displays from singing, dancing, classical ballet, drama, public speaking to musical ensembles and artists.

In addition to the live performances during the week, there was also a static display of artistic works from the schools on display in the centre.

The is the second year that MarketPlace Raymond Terrace has sponsored the event.

News Of The Area look forward to celebrating Education Week with our talented young people for many years to come.
