MidCoast Council’s new logo revealed

THE rollout of MidCoast Council’s new logo is underway with the design now featuring on their website.

According to Council, the colours of the logo reflect the natural environment and the cluster of shapes show the new region coming together.

“To maintain a light, fresh and organic approach for the MidCoast brand, clean lines and simple forms were created,” documents on Council’s website state.

The design was developed through community consultation as part of the “What Is MidCoast?” campaign which included 12 focus groups, six community meetings and two online surveys.

Council said the consultation revealed “the community places high value on the natural environment” which is reflected in the logo design.

“The organic approach is fresh and contemporary and is highly suitable for and reflective of MidCoast’s brand essence of a natural connection,” the documents state.

“The environmental colour palette resonates with and enhances awareness of MidCoast region’s natural flavor.”

The new logo will be gradually introduced across the region, with the first phase of the roll out primarily digital.

The second phrase will involve signage as it is replaced “on an as needed basis”.

The logo creates a single brand identity for MidCoast Council and reflects the diverse communities and places that make up the region.

Council report a new logo “is a key requirement of the Department of Premier and Cabinet for all newly merged Councils”.
