Their now hallway through the 2018/19 season and preparing for next month’s Regional Championships at Glendale near Newcastle.

“10 athletes went off and competed at the Port Hunter Zone Championships in December at Raymond Terrace,” Secretary of the Centre, Melisa Brown told News Of The Area.

“Nine of those athletes qualified in 26 events to attend the Regional Championships in February to compete against athletes from the Port Hunter, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Hunter zones,” Melisa said.

She added, “The team achieved some great results and personal bests and Myall Coast LAC also came ninth overall out of the 11 centres and third in the Handicap on points to club registrations.”

“This was an awesome effort for our centre as we only have 43 athletes in total.”

The Myall Coast Little Athletes will take to the track in Glendale in a variety of events from sprints, to hurdles, long, high and triple jump, discus, shotput and javelin.

“For the nine athletes continuing on to Regionals we wish them all good luck.

Little Athletics resumes early next month on Monday afternoon at the Hawks Nest Oval.

Melisa would also like to that their major sponsors, the Myall Pharmacy and Tea Gardens Country Club.
