Two Myall athletes are now heading to the State Championships after stand out performances at the recent Regional competition in Glendale.

Secretary Melisa Brown told News Of The Area, “Tyler Rodgers U10 for his 60m Hurdles in a time of 11.89s in his heat.”

“Tyler came second in his final in a time of 12.20s.”

“Lilly-Ann White U12 for her Long Jump coming in 2nd jumping 3.93m.”

“Both were automatic qualifiers,” Melisa said.

The regionals had been postponed for a week because of the heatwave conditions.

“Some kids even ran in the pouring rain but it was well received after all the heat we have had,” Melisa said

“We had lots of personal best performances over the weekend and a couple of earlier injuries which prevented a couple from competing.”

Melisa had high praise for all those who competed, Gemma Brown, Kasey Brown, Aaliyah Paulson-Ruprecht, Lenita White, Corey Cunningham, Sophie Fraser, Sam Alchin, Lewis Smith and Jade Hunter.

And just a reminder that the Myall Coast Little Athletics Centre will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 10.30am on Sunday 9 April at the Tea Gardens Country Club.

Melisa said, “There are many committee roles vacant going into the next season and we urge anyone who is interested to attend the AGM.”

“If all roles are not filled, the centre will not be able to continue next season and the more hands, the lighter the work.”

“Please consider helping in some way.”
