Nambucca Heads Bowls Club Results

D Curran and M Blackford, winners of the Club’s Minor Pairs Championships.

ON Monday 4 October Nambucca held a social day of 48 members playing 2 bowl triples with 4 games over 12 ends and a BBQ lunch.

Winners were the stacked side of K Porter, G Hunt and G Porter with T Meehan, K Rostron and A Rostron coming second.

Both Wednesday and Friday social comps were full fields.

On Saturday afternoon in pleasant conditions, the Men’s Minor Pairs Final was decided with M Blackford and D Curran 19 defeating B Redman and P Dawe 15.

Well done to last year’s runners up who improved one place this year.

This year’s runners up reckon it’s their turn in 2022.

The Men’s Fours Final was finally played on Sunday afternoon after a small eight-month delay due to flooded greens, people being away or sick and some virus called Covid.

In very windy conditions the men of the match P Dawe and B Thompson, gave P Meehan and skip T Urquhart 26 an armchair ride in defeating P McNally, D Ogilvy, M Boyle and G Hunt 11.

Major Minor Pairs start next Saturday and a list is on the board for Triples nominations which start in three weeks time so get your name in.

That is all.
