On Saturday, following some drizzly weather in the morning, a stableford event was held, again sponsored by Nambucca River Removals, and this attracted 66 players.

This event was played in two divisions and was the annual Kerry McCoy Cup Day.

This day is held in memory of our esteemed past President and Captain Kerry whose commitment and dedication to our club will be long remembered by us all.

His Cup goes to the club member who has the best stableford score on the day and this year it was won by Nathan Ison.

We were delighted to have Kerry’s wife Lyn and his daughter Maureen present on the day to share the presentation of trophies.

Maureen’s husband Steve and nephew Drew joined us for the golf event and their exploits on the course added some merriment at presentation time (Kerry loved a bit of banter and he would be proud of them both).

Division one was a tight contest with Nathan Ison (13) Troy Herbert (8) and Chris Knight (12) all finishing with 39 points.

The countback resulted in a win for Nathan and a runner up prize for Troy.

Division two was won by Peter Moxon (19) with 36 points from runner up William Mann (18) on 35 points.

The ball comp went to 33 points.

The longest put on 2 went to Troy Herbert and NTP”s were 5th Col Wormleaton, 7th Drew Glasson, 8th Chris Knight, 13th Eddie Penrose, 15th Phil Mander and 18th Frank Taylor.

The Island Classic is being held on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 and this will be another great event for the club.
