NELSON Bay Rock & Roll Club has been operating for more than 16 years and will be presenting the 16t h Annual Rock & Roll Festival at Nelson Bay Diggers.

The festivities will take place Fri 14 October until Sunday 16 October.

The three day event will see Rock & Roll dancers from all over the state come to Nelson Bay.

Step back in time and appreciate all things vintage and rockabilly during the October long weekend Rock & Roll Festival.

The Nelson Bay Diggers auditorium will be decked out in rockabilly style, with Friday night dancing.
Doors will open at 6pm.

There will be a Muscle Car show starting at 10am, Saturday 15 October with Free entry.

Classic American and Australian cars will be on display.

There will be a teacher workshop conducted from 2-4pm where “partner dancing” will be taught for a small fee.

Saturday night the dancing continues from 6pm in the Auditorium.

“A special wow factor to the festival is a special display by a professional group of Sydney dancers,” Keith Barnard, President of The Nelson Bay Rock & Roll Club told News Of The Area.

Sunday afternoon dancing will continue in the Auditorium from 1- 5pm.

The Nelson Bay Rock & Roll Club meets Tuesday nights 7pm for beginners, and Wednesday nights for Club Members in the Nelson Bay Diggers Auditorium.

“Rock & Roll dancing is a great way to stay young and vital – as you use both brain and body,” Mr Barnard said.

Keith and his wife Diana are two of the original six who founded the club, and are both qualified dance instructors.

The club currently has 77 members and all ages are welcome to attend.
