Nelson Bay View Club had their first meeting of the year, the AGM on Thursday 2 February.

The meeting was attended by View Zone Councillor Anne Louise O’Connor who gave an interesting insight into life living on a community owned Pokolbin winery.

The View Club ladies will be heading off to Ms O’Connor’s for a special visit later in the year.

During the AGM, Carol Buckingham, who has been President for the last three years, handed over the helm to Pat Gibson making her the new president for 2017.

“This year we celebrate our 50th year and we are so excited,” Publicity Officer Margaret Wilkinson told Bay News Of The Area.

“View is such a good way to get to meet other ladies, have fun and at the same time help disadvantaged children achieve better educational outcomes,” Ms Wilkinson said.

The Nelson Bay View Club’s next luncheon will be at Soldiers Point Bowling Club at 11am on Thursday 2 March with an interesting speaker from Canberra sharing her experiences as a Rotary volunteer in Thailand.

The ladies enjoyed a time of friendship when they met at Evviva Restaurant earlier this week for lunch.

New members are always welcome.
