PEGGY Stranksy, the winner of NOTA’s April Book Giveaway promotion, has finally had the chance to connect with local authors Kim Rigby and Chrissy Hampton.

The promotion was run in an April edition of News Of The Area, and invited submissions for either a children’s story pitch or a setting for a teen fantasy novel.

Ms Stransky – a resident of Nelson Bay – won the giveaway with her wonderful idea for a children’s book set in South America.

On Thursday 1 June Peggy was invited to meet authors Kim and Chrissy face-to-face.

The ladies quickly established rapport with each other and spent an hour or so sharing stories about their life
experiences, discussing the process and craft of writing and talking about the possibilities that arise when people ‘find their voice’.

Kim and Chrissy then made their presentations to Peggy, awarding her copies of their self-published books and signing them.

Peggy was most grateful for the books, saying, “I’m very much looking forward to sharing these with my great-grandchildren.”
