OPINION: Bowraville Book Fair a huge success

DEAR News Of The Area,

WOW!

What a weekend we had in Bowraville.

The annual Bowraville Book Fair was a huge success.

I would like to thank NOTA (Rochelle and Nerida in particular) for their contribution to making this event so successful.
A very big thank you to the team of volunteers who helped to make the event what it was (Alison, Anne, Brenda, Debbie, Georgette, Jenny, Julee, Julie, Kathleen, Keith, Ken, Lizzie, Margrit, Mary, Michael, Phillida, Ros, Soozie, and Todd).

Another big thank you to all the people of the Nambucca Valley who donated books and other items for sale and raffle.

A mega thank you to all of the people from the Nambucca Valley and beyond who bought books and raffle tickets and enjoyed coffee and cake in our cafe (thank you Anne!).

The first prize in the raffle – an air fryer multifunction oven – was won by Karen of Nambucca Heads.

The other prize winners were Dawn, Mickey, Georgie, Roby, Alison, Sharon, Erica, Rani and Diana.

$4,000 was raised (almost twice as much as the 2023 Book Fair).

The committee and members will discuss how best to use these much needed funds at the next general meeting of BCDAI (Bowraville Community Development Association Inc) who manage the Bowraville Pioneer Community Centre.

This meeting will be held at the community centre (70 High Street, Bowraville) on Saturday 10 February at 1pm, after the Bowra Country Markets.

All welcome.

Sincere thanks,
Marion SYRATT,
Book Fair Co-ordinator
Bowraville Community Development Association Incorporated.
