While these are part of their operations, have you ever given thought to the other volunteer opportunities that exist?

Currently, there are vacancies for grounds maintenance, wedding/events co-ordinators, corporate support (admin, data entry, clerical), IT, PR, social media and website management, photography and graphic design.

The list goes on.

While there are many dedicated volunteers already in place within the gift shop, there is an opportunity for someone to become part of the retail management team which will involve all aspects of running a successful business.

Sandra Scheuber, Gift Shop Manager, told News Of The Area, “Volunteering at MRPS fulfils my life, I have made many friends, it’s a supportive environment and knowing my time and effort is appreciated and directly contributes to the viability of the service is what really keeps me coming back.”

Being part of MRPS satisfies the criteria for the Work for the Dole program, it offers flexibility on hours, available 7 days per week, with indoors and outdoors, or group and individual projects.

Minimum age is 18.

It is an opportunity to gain employability skills, brush up on existing skills or branch into something new.

“I’m very pleased to be part of such a well recognised organisation that provides such a valuable emergency service to the community,”  Lee Uebergang, Unit Commander said.

Lee would like to thank the community for supporting MRPS and to thank the dedicated volunteers who give their time regularly.

Information on joining call 0437 584 383.
