WHEN it comes to entertainment, Allan Wilson and Karren Nash scooped the pool last Friday evening when they presented two hilarious plays to a keen audience who gathered in the theatre at Palm Lake Resort.

First up was “The Wedding Shower”, an adaptation by Karren Nash where the bride to be, relatives and friends were seated around a table that offered typical fare and refreshments for the celebration.

The plot was instigated by the bride to be’s best friend who thought she would spice up proceedings by purchasing a personal gift for the bride from the local adult shop but to her shock became extremely embarrassed when she realized that the bride to be’s grandmother had been invited to the party.

During the course of the wedding shower party, the bride’s best friend managed to swap her somewhat naughty present with that of the grandmother so when the grandmother’s present was being given to the bride to be, there were all sorts of double sided comments made in relation to what was contained in the present box.

When News of the Area asked Karren what she enjoyed most about being in the play, she said, “It gives me great pleasure to bring laughter from the audience.”

Not to be outdone, Allan Wilson, had written a play titled, “Heaven on Earth at Date Palm Resort “ and together with his key actors managed to entertain the audience with the performance.

The storyline in this play was that two husbands had passed and were in heaven reminiscing about their life on earth and at the same time questioning how their wives would be living their lives, without them, at Date Palm Resort.

At the same time, the spotlight was shone on the two wives who were enjoying happy hour at the resort also reflecting their lives and how they missed their husbands.

Allan Wilson told News of the Area, “When I moved into the village, I saw an opportunity to do what I love best and that is write and direct stage plays for the village residents and visitors to enjoy.

“These stage plays have proven to be very popular and with help from many volunteers in the village, we manage to have a night like last Friday on a regular basis throughout the year.”

Definitely no shortage of talent at Palm Lake Resort.
