If you’re heading to the Myall River Festival this weekend, then you may want to bring your pooch along to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Greenpaws Pet Show.
Organiser Sharon Beatson is marking the occasion with some new competition categories.
“We’ve got the talented section for dogs who love to show off their tricks, there’s the fastest sit drop and the fastest treat catcher,” Sharon told News Of The Area.
“There’s the prettiest girl, and the most handsome boy.”
“We’ve also got the senior citizens award to honour the oldest and wisest dog in town, and the happiest.”
“There’s the fancy dress competition, the happiest pooch with the waggiest tail and finally Best in Show,” she said.
Peter Sinclair, Tea Gardens Vet Dr Karleah McCartney and Sharon are the judges this year.
Tea Gardens Veterinary Clinic, the Ice Cream Shack and Coles are also sponsoring the event.
It’s free to enter and there are some great prizes.
So if you want to join in the fun with Sharon and Teddy the wonder dog then head to the main stage area on the Tea Gardens foreshore at midday on Saturday 29 September.
Other River Festival activities include the Great Duck Derby, Fireworks, Aqua Golf Competition and the lantern parade.
