IT wasn’t quite the Caribbean, but lots of little pirates had a fun afternoon at the Tea Gardens Library last week.
Every school holidays, the library stages fun and creative activities for the youngsters.
This time around the children were invited to a pirate party.
They made eye patches, paper hats and swashbuckling swords.
There were also maggoty biscuits and seaweed water and popcorn for afternoon tea.
Librarian Carol Johnson was the Ship’s Captain.
“It’s been a fantastic school holidays, we had a lovely board games and puzzles afternoon last week and today we’ve had a very exciting pirates afternoon.’’
Parents and grandparents joined in the fun and you didn’t have to be a local to be invited to the party.
Lorena and her family were visiting from Sydney for the holidays.
With three children, aged 4, 6 and 9, what better way to spend a rainy afternoon.
“We love to come here in winter, you don’t have to line up at the bakery and you can walk to the beach and there’s hardly anyone around,” Lorena told News Of The Area.
Now that the school holidays are over it’s back to the regular activities at the library.
Story Time, Tiny Turtles and Homework Help are now back in full swing.
